Congresswoman Bustos congratulates Mercer County High for winning state football championship
MERCER COUNTY, Ill.--On Monday, January 28th Congresswoman Cheri Bustos (IL-17) stopped by Mercer County High School in Aledo to congratulate the Golden Eagles on winning the 2A Illinois state football championship this past November.In addition to congratulating the team, Cheri also presented them with a signed and personalized copy of the statement she submitted into the Congressional Record congratulating the team last week.
The Mercer County Golden Eagles beat the Althoff Crusaders for their first state title since merging with the Westmer school district several years ago.
